    In a non-metallic bowl, mix the desired amount of Indigo powder with warm water to create a smooth paste. The consistency should be similar to yogurt – not too thick or too runny. You can also add a pinch of salt to the mixture to enhance the color absorption. Let the paste sit for 15-20 minutes. This allows the dye to release its color. Wear gloves to avoid staining your hands. Drape a towel or an old cloth around your shoulders to protect your clothing from any potential spills. Divide your hair into sections to ensure even application. Starting from the roots, apply the indigo paste to your hair using a brush or your gloved hands. Make sure to cover all areas evenly. Cover your hair with a plastic shower cap or wrap it in plastic wrap. This helps to retain heat and moisture, allowing the dye to penetrate better. Let the indigo sit in your hair for 1-2 hours, depending on the desired color intensity. The longer you leave it on, the deeper the color will be. Rinse your hair thoroughly with water to remove all the indigo paste. Do not use shampoo immediately after rinsing, as this can wash away some of the dye. Instead, wait at least 24-48 hours before shampooing your hair.
